FAQs

  • Typically, I do 5’’x7’’ or 8’’x10’’. I can do a square ratio at about 10’’x10’’ or less.

  • I send a social media message (mostly on Facebook) for anyone who is interested in having a portrait of their dog, cat, etc... I can reply to people from Messenger and have them send me a good photo of their pet: make sure their are no red eyes, optical flares, blurriness, etc. We will talk about how specifically the consumer would like the portrait to be: any additional details, background colors, etc. I also let them know the progress and if there are gonna be any delays or if I finish it early. I ask what the best way to deliver the portrait is whether its shipping (if far away) or driving down.

    1. I start out by editing a photographic picture of the pet in Adobe Photoshop in case I need to make it more clear to see.

    2. I make sure to print it out from a professional printer.

    3. I grid the printed picture using a light pencil, then I grid the portrait paper with the same dimensions.

    4. I sketch out the pet exactly where the lines (nose lines, eye lines, ear lines, etc.) meet the edge of each grid. Think of it as: Connect the Dots.

    5. After its sketched out, I begin to color: I always start with light strokes before I darken them.

    6. After coloring, I use a Fixative spray so that the chalk pastel does not smudge.

    7. I package it in a flat cardboard box.

  • It usually depends on how long it takes me to do them, but now it depends on size:

    5’’x7”- $65.00

    8”x10”- $85.00

    10”x10”- $85.00

    Other dimensions will vary.
